Cushing Terrell is seeking a Senior Medical Planner to provide planning leadership and technical expertise for healthcare projects across our practice. In this role, you will guide clients and project teams through programming, master planning, and functional planning, translating clinical operations and patient needs into efficient, welcoming, and buildable healthcare environments.

Qualifications

• Accredited professional degree in Architecture or related field.
• 7+ years focused healthcare planning experience requiring master planning.
• Experience leading programming, master planning, and functional planning for healthcare facilities.
• Strong knowledge of healthcare codes, guidelines, and licensing requirements (FGI, NFPA 101, CMS).
• Ability to translate clinical operations and patient needs into space programs and plans.

Responsibilities

• Lead programming, master planning, and functional planning for healthcare projects from concept through design.
• Facilitate user group meetings and workshops with clinicians and facility leaders.
• Translate clinical operations into space programs, adjacencies, and plans.
• Develop and review floor plans, room layouts, and equipment plans for clinical spaces.
• Provide planning expertise and guidance to project teams and healthcare practice.
