Job summary

Lifepoint Health seeks a Senior Associate General Counsel, Litigation (SAGC-L) to lead and supervise litigation initiatives focused on managed care disputes. The role reports to the VP and Managing Counsel, Litigation, and works from our Brentwood, TN offices.

Key responsibilities include overseeing disputes, managing outside counsel, handling discovery and internal investigations, and advising on third-party agreements while ensuring regulatory compliance and strategic risk mitigation.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of relevant experience as a licensed attorney; preference for healthcare litigation background.
• Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school and Tennessee license to practice law.
• Experience with healthcare-related laws, regulations, and investigations.
• Ability to travel up to 25%.

Responsibilities

• Oversees and manages all aspects of potential or pending litigation matters and investigations, focusing on managed care payor disputes.
• Retains and manages outside counsel and third-party experts, evaluating expense, effectiveness and quality.
• Oversees discovery and legal holds; conducts internal investigations and makes recommendations.
• Creates and implements strategies to prevent litigation and educates attorneys and business partners.
• Ensures compliance with healthcare policies and regulations; provides general legal guidance on third-party agreements.
• Implements processes for the Legal Department, including budgets, reports and discovery.
• Delivers ongoing reports to VP-L and other attorneys with proposed resolution strategies.
• Fulfils other duties assigned by VP-L.
