Job summary

Chapters Health System is seeking a Facilities Maintenance professional to oversee building upkeep and coordinate with HVAC contractors to ensure safety and regulatory compliance in patient care facilities.

The role requires a High School Diploma or Trade training with 3+ years of maintenance experience, electrical/plumbing knowledge, and strong communication skills. Travel to off-site locations may be required; on-call duties include nights, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED or trade school; education may be substituted by experience.
• Minimum of three years' experience in general maintenance and/or maintenance/repair of equipment.
• Electrical circuitry and basic electrical principles.
• Knowledge of NEC requirements as it relates to the Organization and its facilities.
• Able to read and interpret plumbing schematics and knowledgeable in plumbers' tasks including sweating or cementing pipe joints; operate snake equipment.
• Able to lift objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to travel to off-site locations and transport equipment or supplies using company or personal vehicle (supervisor approval).
• Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
• Must be on-call nights, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Oversees and maintains building and repairs as directed by the Facilities Manager.
• Oversees contractors for HVAC and other disciplines and oversees the bid process on major repairs or purchases.
• Maintains fire prevention and suppression equipment to comply with regulatory agencies.
• Monitors and maintains HVAC systems to ensure service requirements and Joint Commission/AHCA standards are met.
• Acts as consultant to gain best value of contractor services and recommends service agreements.
• Maintains lean spare parts inventory and keeps shop/storage area clean and safe.
• Performs other duties as assigned by Facilities Manager.
