Job summary

RML Specialty Hospital in Hinsdale, IL is seeking a Controller to lead financial reporting, accounting, and revenue integrity. This role ensures GAAP compliance, internal controls, and accurate external reporting while driving operational efficiency across the finance functions.

You will oversee the budgeting process, audit coordination, and financial systems enhancements, partnering with leadership to support strategic decisions and regulatory requirements in a healthcare setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA required.
• 10–12 years of progressive accounting and finance experience.
• 3–5 years in a senior management, Director, Controller, or equivalent leadership role.
• Demonstrated experience with hospital accounting, financial reporting, revenue cycle, patient financial services, and reimbursement.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, healthcare reimbursement, Medicare and Medicaid requirements, internal controls, and financial reporting.
• Experience leading annual budgeting and external audit processes.
• Experience with financial systems, software implementations, system upgrades, and reporting applications.
• Experience developing and implementing financial policies, internal controls, and process improvements.

Responsibilities

• Directs general accounting and financial reporting, ensuring GAAP-compliant statements.
• Leads Accounts Payable, Payroll, and revenue cycle activities with strong internal controls.
• Oversees Patient Financial Services, admitting, and revenue integrity to ensure timely billing and collections.
• Partners with leadership to identify and mitigate reimbursement and regulatory risks.
• Drives annual budgeting processes and financial planning aligned with organizational goals.
• Maintains financial policies and internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure compliance.
