Job summary

The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center is seeking a Senior Carpenter to support construction, renovation, repair, and maintenance across healthcare, research, and administrative spaces on campus.

You will apply advanced carpentry and millwork skills, interpret shop drawings, and lead junior team members while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance in occupied environments. This is an on-site, full-time position with competitive salary and benefits.

Qualifications

• 5 years journeyman carpentry experience required.
• High School Diploma or Equivalent required; trade/vocational training preferred.
• Texas Driver's License preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform skilled and advanced carpentry work on doors, frames, hardware, millwork and cabinetry.
• Support maintenance in occupied healthcare environments with minimal disruption to operations.
• Read blueprints and shop drawings; interpret construction documents.
• Ensure compliance with Infection Control Risk Assessment (ICRA) and safety standards.
• Lead and mentor junior carpenters and coordinate with other trades.
