Job summary

CannonDesign is seeking an experienced health-design leader in the US with at least 10 years of experience to guide complex health projects. You will lead planning, programming, and documentation while mentoring teams and maintaining strong client relationships.

In this role, you will translate concepts into construction documents, integrate sustainable design, and collaborate with owners, designers and engineers to achieve project goals in multiple offices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Interior Design, Engineering or a related field is required.
• Minimum 10 years of related experience.
• Experience as a subject matter expert on health market projects.
• Licensure or registration in the United States preferred.
• LEED accreditation preferred.
• Knowledge of building codes and requirements.
• Must have advanced knowledge in discipline.
• Must possess business acumen.
• Must have the ability to be client facing with strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Must be able to lead less experienced team members.
• Strong technical knowledge, coordination skills and the ability to build rapport with project team and client are essential.
• Familiarity with Revit, Microsoft Office and Bluebeam.

Responsibilities

• Actively seek to advance the state of the art and develop innovative health design solutions.
• Collaborate with project teams to provide technical expertise in programming and planning.
• Lead user group meetings to collect needs and assess space utilization.
• Communicate planning concepts to project teams and owners, verbally and through reports and drawings.
• Translate planning concepts into understandable terms for clients and designers.
• Lead development, modification and review of planning concepts and solutions.
• Lead development of architectural drawings and specs to translate planning concepts into construction documents.
• Develop project scope, plan and services during the contract process.
• Incorporate Integrated Sustainable Design solutions into projects.
• Develop and maintain relationships with clients.
• Provide guidance to other designers and project leaders.
• Other duties as assigned.
