The University of Texas at Austin is seeking a Senior Health Professions Coach within the College of Natural Sciences. This on-campus role advises pre-health students on course prerequisites, admissions requirements, and non-academic components for professional school applications, while coordinating events and updating program requirements.

Responsibilities include coaching individuals and groups, liaising with health professions representatives, planning HP workshops, and teaching BIO 102C.

Qualifications

• Master's degree and four years of experience in academic advising, career services, or pre-health professions advising.
• Demonstrated project management abilities, interpersonal skills, professional demeanor and excellence in oral and written communication.
• Experience planning large-scale events.
• Experience teaching or presenting in classroom settings.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative team environment. Must be able to occasionally travel, including overnight travel.

Responsabilités

• Serve as UT point of contact with health professions program representatives to verify course requirements annually and coordinate HP program presentations for coaches.
• Provide coaching individually and in groups to pre-health professions students as they progress toward and complete applications to professional schools.
• Represent health professions programs in on-campus and off-campus settings and liaise with the Career Ecosystem team; coordinate evening events for student organizations.
• Stay current on admissions requirements across Medicine, Dentistry, Veterinary, Pharmacy, Optometry, PA, OT, PT, and related fields.
• Plan and coordinate workshops and skill-building events for students in person and via livestream; teach and present to groups from 25 to 500.
• Develop and disseminate pre-Health Professions materials for students, staff, and faculty as part of the Career Ecosystem.
• Coordinate the Health Professions Fair annually with CNS Events and external vendors; adjust as needed.
• Teach BIO 102C in spring for the Biology Scholars Program.
