Job summary

Westinghouse is seeking Senior Health Physics Technicians to support nuclear power plants across the United States. You will provide radiation protection coverage and oversight tailored to your certifications and qualifications.

You will report to the site manager and be located onsite at multiple locations. Responsibilities include surveys, ALARA planning, decontamination support, and participation in the Site Emergency Plan.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of radiation safety principles, regulations, and standards.
• Experience with ALARA planning and radiation protection.
• Familiarity with radiation detection and measurement equipment.

About The Role

Westinghouse is recruiting Senior Health Physics Technicians to work at various Nuclear Power Plants within the Unites States. Provide Radiation Protection coverage and oversight for power-plant activates. In addition to providing job coverage, certain routine tasks may be assigned determined by individual certifications, qualifications, and skills.

You will report to the Westinghouse site manager and be located onsite at various locations.

Key Responsibilities

Types of tasks RP Technicians may perform include the following:

• radiation and contamination surveys
• material and equipment surveys
• release of personnel and material
• material escort
• ALARA planning
• Help with decontamination activities
• Support Site Emergency Plan

Qualifications

Senior Health Physics Technician 3.1A or above. (3.1A requires 2,000 hours of commercial nuclear power combined with a systematic approach to training).

Knowledge of radiation safety principles, regulations, and industry standards.

Knowledge of radiation detection and measurement equipment, including calibration and quality control.

We are committed to transparency and equity in all of our people practices. The hourly pay range for this position, which is dependent upon experience and qualifications, is estimated to be $34 to $40 per hour.
