Job summary

The City of Pasadena, TX is seeking a Health Inspector to conduct inspections within city limits to identify health violations and ensure compliance with City, State, and Federal codes. You will respond to citizen complaints, educate the public, and conduct CO and annual permitting inspections for ambulance services, salvage yards, and other facilities.

Must have a high school diploma or GED and be able to obtain Texas certifications within one year. A valid Texas driver's license is required.

Qualifications

• Demonstrate effective communication, writing and analytical skills.
• Valid Texas driver's license and a good driving record.
• Ability to obtain certification as a Code Enforcement Officer by the State of Texas within one year of employment.
• Ability to obtain certification as a Certified Pool Operator within one year of employment.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspections at city locations to identify health violations and verify compliance with codes.
• Respond to citizen complaints and investigate health violations by inspecting properties and establishments.
• Conduct Certificate of Occupancy inspections and annual permitting inspections for designated services and facilities.
• Prepare detailed reports including findings, recommendations, citations, and complaint forms.
• Drive a City vehicle to and from inspection locations.
