Job summary

Mathematica, Inc. is seeking a Health Informatics & Interoperability Lead (Remote Eligible) to guide interoperability strategy, oversee FHIR initiatives, and mentor teams across health data standards and digital quality measurement.

The role interfaces with federal and state health programs and requires deep knowledge of HL7, FHIR, APIs, and data models. The candidate will drive technical architectures, translation of policies into solutions, and collaboration with clients and standards bodies

Qualifications

• Master's degree required in health informatics, computer science, data science, public health, health policy, statistics, mathematics, or related field.
• At least 10 years of experience in health informatics, interoperability, data standards, or related fields.
• Deep experience guiding strategic, architectural, and technical implementation decisions.
• Demonstrated expertise with FHIR and HL7 standards and practical implementation approaches.
• Experience with interoperable health data solutions involving EHRs and health IT environments.
• Strong understanding of healthcare data models, terminology standards, and data mapping.
• Ability to translate requirements into interoperability architecture and technical designs.
• Experience with digital quality measurement, including electronic clinical quality measures and quality reporting.

Responsibilities

• Serve as senior SME across FHIR, health data standards, exchange, EHR-enabled solutions, and digital quality measurement.
• Lead and advance Mathematica's interoperability and FHIR strategy and capability development.
• Provide technical leadership on projects involving interoperable health data and quality measurement.
• Guide translation of policy and business requirements into technical specifications and designs.
• Mentor staff and represent Mathematica in standards communities and client forums.
• Support business development and capture activities with technical strategies.
