Job summary

Nevada Health Authority is seeking Health Facility Inspectors in Carson City to assess regulatory compliance across Nevada health facilities. Applicants may include sanitarians, dieticians, social workers, pharmacists and allied professionals.

The Inspector 2 role conducts on-site or off-site surveys, reviews records, interviews and observations, and prepares formal reports. A qualification exam (SMQT) must be obtained within the first year of employment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in public health, health care or business administration, the medical or biological sciences, criminal justice, or a specialty field identified for the specific recruitment such as dietetics, facilities construction and maintenance, finance or accounting, medical technology, social work or social science.

Responsibilities

• Inspect healthcare facilities for compliance with infection control regulations and other standards.
• Complete all required inspection activities, documentation and follow-up documents within regulations and policies.
• Inspect laboratory services and review qualifications of laboratory personnel.
• Review facility policies, quality assurance programs and patient records to ensure care meets standards.
• Prepare formal reports and recommendations for CMS and enforcement actions.
