Job summary

State of Nevada is seeking a Health Facilities Inspector III, RN based in Las Vegas. You will supervise inspectors who assess health care facilities across Nevada, guiding staff, ensuring timely inspection processes, and applying sanctions and enforcement consistently. Travel within Nevada and outside to trainings may be required.

Must hold an RN license in good standing and have supervisory experience. The role emphasizes education of facilities on regulations and collaboration with industry

Qualifications

• Four or more years of applicable experience as described in the job duties.
• Minimum of one-year supervisory experience preferred.
• Current licensure as an RN issued by the Nevada State Board of Nursing.

Responsibilities

• Conduct inspections of facilities to assess licensure, permitting, certification, and Medicare/Medicaid.
• Determine appropriateness of patient assessment and care; review charts and labs; observe procedures; train staff; refer to licensing boards as needed.
• Lead initial meetings with facility stakeholders to explain inspection procedures and regulatory requirements.
• Review facility policies, medical records, QA programs, and infection control measures.
• Inspect facility infrastructure and environmental conditions; review architectural plans for code compliance; communicate determinations to facilities.
