Job summary

Devon Energy in Hobbs, NM is seeking a Health and Safety Professional to implement safe practices across designated operations. You will conduct risk assessments, develop safety protocols, and train employees to strengthen a culture of safety and environmental stewardship.

You will compile health and safety data for reports and regulatory documentation, support incident investigations, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements while optimizing safety and operational performance.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of relevant experience in Health & Safety Operations, risk assessments, policy implementation and incident investigations.
• Oil and gas industry experience preferred.
• Bilingual a plus.

Responsibilities

• Promotes and demonstrates safety leadership attributes, fostering a culture of safety and environmental stewardship.
• Provides cost-effective health and safety guidance to operations while ensuring compliance.
• Assists in compiling and maintaining health and safety data for routine reports and regulatory documentation.
• Supports incident investigations, reviews and training sessions to improve safety practices.
• Collaborates with field personnel to ensure contractor compliance with health and safety standards.
• Participates in pre-project health and safety assessments, inspections and hazard identification.
• Supports emergency response protocols and timely reporting of incidents and near misses.
• Performs on-site verifications to identify performance gaps related to regulatory and internal standards.
• Gains experience under supervision and supports continuous health and safety improvement initiatives.
• Develops basic business knowledge and learns from subject matter experts in health and safety.
