Job summary

Marsh is seeking an experienced Principal Lead Health Actuary Consultant to join its Actuarial and Financial Consulting team within the People and Investments business. This hybrid role requires in-office presence at least three days per week across US locations.

You will manage health benefits projections, plan design optimization, and renewal negotiations while serving as the primary financial contact for clients and guiding analysts and associates.

Qualifications

• BA/BS degree in actuarial science, math, statistics, finance, economics, or a related field.
• Minimum 10+ years' experience in actuarial field with health and benefits consulting experience.
• ASA designation in progress is desirable.
• Client facing experience required.
• Strong analytical skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Lead routine client engagements, overseeing service delivery, strategy, financial evaluations, plan design, renewals, business placement, benchmarking and other health and welfare underwriting projects.
• Review data analyses conducted by junior staff for actuarial accuracy and to support professional development.
• Perform and review complex analyses and cost projections using Excel, SAS and other software; may specialize in healthcare-related insurance areas.
• Contribute to a technology-enabled and AI-assisted work environment.
• Draft and review client reports and presentations to summarize findings and propose strategies or plan designs.
• Manage day-to-day client interactions, resolve project-related questions, and guide junior team members in client management.
• Assist senior team members in business development by identifying growth opportunities and supporting proposals.
• Contribute to intellectual capital and expand knowledge of health insurance actuarial services and products.
