Job summary

Moffitt Services is seeking a dependable, experienced HD Fleet Diesel Mechanic to join our Texas-based team in Midland. The role requires diagnosing problems, working independently, and taking ownership with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities include troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, and ensuring fleet safety and readiness, with a schedule that may involve nights or after-hours as needed. We offer competitive pay and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years of diesel mechanic experience is preferred.
• Experience working on medium- and heavy-duty truck fleets.
• Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic ability.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• PTO, tanker, hydraulic, and fuel system experience preferred.
• Welding and fabrication experience is a plus.
• CDL with Tanker and Hazmat endorsements is a plus.
• ASE Certifications are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair diesel trucks, trailers, pumps, PTO systems, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, air brake systems, steering and suspension systems, and related components.
• Perform preventative maintenance and inspections on fleet vehicles and equipment.
• Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical failures efficiently and accurately.
• Complete work orders, maintenance documentation, and inspection records properly.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
• Work closely with operations and leadership to minimize downtime and maintain fleet readiness.
• Perform after-hours or emergency repairs when necessary.
• Follow all company safety procedures and DOT-related requirements.
