Job summary

Saab, Inc. in Grayling, MI is seeking a Senior Material Handler to integrate with manufacturing, engineering, supply chain, facilities, safety, and quality teams on site.

The role emphasizes HAZMAT handling, inventory integrity, and compliant shipping through Oracle systems. Key responsibilities include receiving, stocking, kitting, and delivering inventory to the production floor, plus coordinating domestic and international shipments, while maintaining strict safety and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree, technical/business school, or equivalent.
• 7+ years of relevant experience, including advanced support skills.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills.
• Ability to lift heavy items and perform physical material handling tasks.
• Understanding of HAZMAT classifications, labeling, segregation, and storage requirements.
• Preferred experience with Class 1 explosives or other regulated hazardous materials.

Responsibilities

• Receive, store, and move materials on site and to production floors.
• Maintain inventory accuracy and manage transactions in Oracle.
• Handle internal and intercompany material movements and shipping paperwork.
• Coordinate with freight forwarders for shipments, including international documents.
• Inspect, package, and ship explosives materials per regulations and safety rules.
• Support projects and provide component ownership as needed.
