  • Support projects and provide component ownership as needed.

Senior Material Handler – Grayling, MI

Saab, Inc. is preparing its manufacturing operation in Grayling, MI and seeks a Senior Material Handler. This role serves as an integral link between manufacturing, engineering, supply chain, facilities, safety, and the quality team on site.

Responsibilities
  • Perform receipt, storage, movement, inventory, and shipment of HAZMAT Class 1 Explosives per DOW, DOT, ATF, and NFPA 495 guidelines.
  • Receive, stock, and maintain incoming inventory from vendors.
  • Pick, kit, and deliver inventory items to the production floor.
  • Execute all required transactions within Oracle.
  • Manage internal and inter‑company material movements.
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies identified during cycle counts.
  • Handle UPS and FedEx shipments using online shipping systems.
  • Perform kitting, crating, packing, and coordinate with freight forwarders for larger shipments.
  • Complete all domestic and international shipping paperwork and ensure compliance with export regulations.
  • Record merchandise shipped, including posting weights and shipping charges.
  • Examine, stock, and distribute materials in inventory and on manufacturing lines.
  • Prepare kitting packages for assembly production as required.
  • Provide support to projects or own components of projects.
  • Operate hand tools, hand trucks, and forklifts safely and efficiently.
  • Adhere strictly to all company policies, procedures, safety regulations, and applicable laws at all times.
  • Maintain full accountability of explosive assets through accurate inventory control and secure storage.

Must be a U.S. citizen, Permanent Resident (green card holder), or protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3).

Compensation
