Job summary

The Yakama Nation seeks a Fish Culturist III to assist in operating and maintaining hatcheries, directing staff, and meeting management goals. You will help with egg collection, spawning, feeding, water management, and disease control, while ensuring proper records and reports are maintained.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or equivalent, be willing to relocate near the Upper Columbia Production Projects, and may need a CDL with tank endorsement.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required, plus one year at Fish Culturist II level.
• Ability to relocate within ½ hour of field station with Upper Columbia Production Projects.
• CDL with tank endorsement may be required.
• Ability to work nights, weekends and holidays as needed.

Responsibilities

• Support Hatchery Manager/Foreman in hatchery operation and staff supervision.
• Schedule subordinates, assist in trapping eggs and spawning activities.
• Monitor water levels, feeding schedules and disease signs; apply treatments as needed.
• Collect data, maintain logs, and report activities and outcomes.
