Job summary

Department of Natural Resources is seeking a Fish Culturist II to support hatchery operations at the Peshastin site. Responsibilities include egg handling, fry transfer, disease checks, and maintaining propagation records.

Employment is temporary/full-time with an hourly wage. Candidates must pass a drug test and hold a valid WA driver’s license with Yakama Nation permit eligibility. Two positions available under FRM.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Pass pre-employment drug test is required.
• Valid Washington State Driver's License with ability to obtain Yakama Nation Tribal Driving Permit with Defensive Driving Course certificate (updated every 2 years).

Responsibilities

• Assist hatchery operations and maintenance as assigned.
• Remove eggs from fish, weigh and sort eggs, and transfer fry.
• Detect diseases and administer prescribed treatments.
• Maintain fish propagation records (pond losses, weights, and temperatures).
• Operate pumps, grinders, mowers, and forklift; perform building/grounds upkeep.
