Job summary

Oura is seeking a Senior Hardware Test Engineer to design, build, and maintain test infrastructure across the product lifecycle. You will work closely with hardware, firmware, and reliability teams to enable fast iteration and high confidence in electrical performance ahead of production.

The role requires hands-on experience with test development, debugging, and translating specifications into repeatable tests, with strong collaboration across engineering disciplines.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in infrastructure or systems engineering.
• Practical understanding of hardware interfaces and protocols (UART, BLE).
• Experience testing electronic components or embedded systems.
• Ability to read datasheets and translate specs into tests.
• Comfortable working close to hardware with bring-up, debugging, and failure analysis.
• Hands-on experience designing and maintaining infrastructure in engineering or lab environments.
• Experience supporting data-intensive/test-driven environments.
• Strong collaboration and communication across engineering disciplines.
• Fluent written and spoken English.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain development-phase tests using Python, including test automation, data collection, and result validation.
• Implement test logic that interfaces with hardware communication protocols such as UART and BLE.
• Build and maintain tooling that supports engineers' development, validation, and debug workflows.
• Collaborate with manufacturing and quality teams to help ensure test knowledge translates effectively into production.
• Support electronics component- and subsystem-level testing during bring-up and early development.
• Debug and validate issues across hardware, firmware, and test infrastructure boundaries.
• Read and interpret electronic component datasheets, specifications, and application notes.
• Convert component requirements and datasheet limits into clear, repeatable, and automated test cases suitable for engineering validation.
• Ensure test coverage reflects real electrical, timing, and protocol requirements, not just functional pass/fail.
