Job summary

Beacon Biosignals is seeking a Hardware Test Engineer to drive testing for EEG and home sleep test systems. You will work with hardware, firmware, system, and software engineers to verify designs and ensure regulatory compliance.

The role emphasizes documenting test plans, procedures, and results, and contributing to product development from concept to manufacturing. Boston office with hybrid remote options is supported.

Qualifications

• BS in engineering or related field (required).
• 5+ years of professional engineering experience with BS or 3+ years with MS.
• Experience writing requirements, test plans, protocols, and reports.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and interpret drawings.
• Experience with RTOS-based embedded software.
• Scripting experience with Python.
• Troubleshooting and root-cause analysis of hardware/firmware in electromechanical systems.
• Experience with Git/JIRA and GitHub.
• Knowledge of medical device design controls and regulations (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute device testing per QMS.
• Create and maintain test plans, protocols, and scripts for embedded systems (hardware, firmware, software).
• Develop procedures, fixtures, and equipment for testing.
• Perform functional, integration, system, and regression testing on hardware and firmware.
• Collaborate with hardware and firmware engineers to resolve issues.
• Ensure compliance with FDA, CE, 60601 and other standards.
• Implement process improvements and test automation to improve quality and efficiency.
