Job summary

Beacon Biosignals is seeking a Machine Learning and Algorithm engineer to scope, build, deploy, and maintain models that analyze brain and biosignal data for advancing sleep, neurological, and psychiatric therapy development.

The role involves leading the full lifecycle of algorithm development, selecting appropriate methods, and improving internal tools for rapid experimentation. This remote role offers collaboration with data scientists, engineers, and clinicians across the US.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of industry experience in machine learning and deep learning, particularly in health sciences or other regulated fields.
• Experience with digital signal processing (DSP) and statistics.
• Proficient in using PyTorch (preferred) or other deep learning frameworks.
• Familiar with latest deep learning advances (Transformer/ViT, large scale modeling, etc.).
• Follow best practices in software and ML engineering, including testing, version control, code reviews, documentation, Dockerization, CI/CD, and experiment tracking.
• Familiar with biosignals, medical imaging data, or large time-series datasets.
• Thrive in a team environment with collaboration and open communication.

Responsibilities

• Lead the biosignal-based algorithm development lifecycle for medical devices, including specifications, data curation, development, and maintenance.
• Select and implement the most appropriate method for each problem, knowing when to apply deep learning vs other methods.
• Enhance internal ML tools, explore new architectures, and improve code reuse for rapid experimentation.
• Ensure implementations are well-documented, tested, and containerized, with CI and non-regression tests.
• Present results to stakeholders and help clients utilize algorithms.
• Support client-facing projects to shape the impact of Beacon algorithms for customers.
