Job summary

PRI Global in Sunnyvale, CA is seeking an experienced hardware engineer to support prototype builds and lab bring-up of VR hardware. You will handle electrical and mechanical assembly, PCB/FPC rework, and hands-on debugging with test equipment to accelerate early development.

The role requires strong schematics literacy, documentation skills, and the ability to work with cross-functional teams including system engineering, architecture, product design, and NPI.

Qualifications

• Read schematics and locate components on PCBs using design schematics and layout viewers.
• Set up, support, and maintain hardware in a lab environment.
• Generate complete assembly/test documentation of prototype setup and share results.
• Support prototype builds including electrical and mechanical assembly to accelerate early concept development for VR hardware.

Responsibilities

• Partner with prototype teams to support prototype builds with electrical and mechanical assembly and component-level work.
• Lead bring-up with engineering teams to accelerate early concept development across VR hardware.
• Diagnose failures with electrical tests and work with team on corrective actions.
• Perform PCBA and FPC rework in an electrical lab environment.
• Collaborate with system engineering, architecture, product design, NPI and research teams.
• Balance multiple workstreams and prioritize to meet timelines.
• Demonstrate creative thinking, clear communication, and strong problem-solving skills.
