Job summary

Medtronic plc is seeking a Hardware Systems Lead to oversee system-level architecture for complex medical device platforms, spanning electronics, embedded firmware, RF, and software interfaces. You will coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure manufacturability, quality, and regulatory compliance.

The role supports onsite work in Lafayette, CO or Santa Clara, CA and requires collaboration across hardware, firmware, software, mechanical, manufacturing, quality, and regulatory functions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 10+ years in engineering or an advanced degree with 8+ years.
• Experience defining system architectures for complex electromechanical products.
• Experience leading cross-functional hardware, firmware, software, and mechanical teams.
• Experience performing system-level verification and risk management.

Responsibilities

• Define and maintain product system architecture across electronics, embedded firmware, mechanical subsystems, RF and software interfaces.
• Translate requirements into system and subsystem specifications balancing technical, schedule, and cost constraints.
• Lead technical tradeoff analyses on power, RF performance, component selection, manufacturability and cost.
• Coordinate development across PCB, firmware, antenna, enclosure, and subsystem integration.
• Partner with software teams to define features, interfaces, integration strategies and verification plans.
• Drive system integration and resolve cross-functional technical issues throughout the lifecycle.
• Lead design reviews, risk management, verification planning, and validation readiness.
