Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Commodity Specialist for Prime Air to source hardware components powering drone delivery. You will lead strategy, negotiate with suppliers, and drive cost optimization while ensuring quality and on-time delivery across the US and Europe.

You will collaborate with Engineering, Operations, and Supply Chain, oversee RFx processes, manage supplier performance, and support new product introductions for hardware categories.

Qualifications

• Experience in program, project or product management or leading product implementation.
• Experience with data analysis using Excel, Pivot Tables, SQL or Tableau.
• Experience in high-volume manufacturing operations or sourcing environments.
• Experience in negotiations with global suppliers and cost reduction.
• Experience in global supply chain management with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Manage hardware commodity categories: electronics, sensors, motors, batteries, mechanical components, or structural materials.
• Execute sourcing strategies, manage supplier relationships, and drive performance improvements.
• Conduct RFx processes, evaluate proposals, perform cost analysis, and support negotiations.
• Monitor supplier performance on quality, delivery, cost, and responsiveness.
• Collaborate with Engineering to qualify suppliers for new hardware components and production ramps.
• Analyze spend patterns and market trends to inform sourcing decisions and supplier consolidation.
