Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support Prime Air drone propulsion hardware and test systems. You will mature designs, increase engineering rigor, and deploy new test setups while collaborating with internal and external teams to support fabrication.

The role involves designing, documenting, and testing hardware for high-volume production, with expectations to deliver robust, scalable solutions and participate in design reviews.

Qualifications

  • 4+ years in mechanical engineering or equivalent
  • Experience with prototyping and implementation
  • Ability to collaborate across Electrical, RF, Thermal, Dynamics, Mechanisms, Materials, Manufacturing, Test

Responsibilities

  • Mechanical design and layout contributing to system architecture across disciplines
  • Create 3D CAD assemblies and 2D drawings
  • Perform static, dynamic, and modal analyses as needed
  • Develop test campaigns for drone hardware and support DFx
  • Document designs for design reviews and manufacturing readiness
