Job summary

Meta Infrastructure is seeking a Hardware Reliability Engineer to advance the reliability of data center hardware across server, storage, and networking platforms. You will drive failure analysis, accelerated life testing, and reliability modeling to reduce field failures in Meta's data centers.

You will lead DFMEA activities, develop tests for design weaknesses, and collaborate with ODMs and internal teams to de-risk designs and meet lifetime reliability metrics.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
• 6+ years of hardware reliability engineering experience including failure analysis and reliability testing.
• Experience applying FMEA, HALT, ALT, Weibull analysis, MTBF modeling to infrastructure hardware.
• Experience translating field failure data into root cause investigations and corrective actions.
• Experience collaborating with hardware suppliers and contract manufacturers to evaluate component reliability.
• Experience communicating reliability findings to engineering and operations through reports and presentations.

Responsibilities

• Lead DFR activities such as DFMEA, derating across AI, compute and storage platforms.
• Develop reliability tests to reveal design weaknesses in compute, storage, server hardware, and networking.
• Establish Design Verification tests to meet lifetime reliability metrics.
• Work with ODMs to ensure tests run as planned and implement improvements.
• Translate test results into product life metrics and highlight unmet metrics.
• Use reliability statistics to support decision making and risk quantification.
• Develop internal reliability test infrastructure to support DEPs and DOE.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Hardware Eng, Release To Production, Thermal, and Failure Analysis teams.
