Job summary

Google is seeking a lead hardware engineer to shape TPU hardware and system design, BOM activities, and hardware/software co-design for TPU projects. You will gather requirements, define architecture, and drive validation and production readiness.

Role emphasizes cross-functional collaboration across Hardware, Software, Mechanical, Thermal, and Validation teams, with responsibility for end-to-end hardware solutions lifecycle.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's in EE/CE/Physics or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years hardware systems design experience, or 5 with advanced degree.
  • 3 years technical leadership experience.
  • Experience with power circuit design and signal integrity.

Responsibilities

  • Be responsible for TPU hardware and system design, BOM design, and hardware/software co-design for TPU projects.
  • Gather system requirements, define architecture, execute hardware design, and product validation.
  • Lead bring-up, validation, NPI, deployment, and sustaining of hardware solutions.
  • Work cross-functionally with Hardware, Software, Mechanical, Thermal, Validation, Manufacturing, and external vendors.
  • Drive system development from concept through production.

Job description

Minimum qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Preferred qualifications:
  • PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10 years of experience with hardware, design and bring-up.
  • 3 years of experience in management.
  • Experience in PCIe, DDR, Ethernet, USB, SPI etc.
