Job summary

Det-Tronics, a global technology leader in life safety, seeks a Portfolio Project Manager in Minneapolis, MN to manage the sustaining and new development programs for transmitters and toxic gas detectors. You will lead cross-functional teams across engineering, supply chain, planning, and manufacturing, driving on-time, on-budget deliverables.

Candidates should have a Bachelor’s in electrical or computer engineering and 10+ years in electromechanical project management within a manufacturing

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or computer engineering.
• Min 10 years of related and successful work experience in project management of electromechanical products in a product manufacturing company.
• Lead the end-to-end delivery of an electromechanical product including team selection, team management, metrics tracking & reporting and communication with management.
• Demonstrated ability and willingness to influence and collaborate with all cross functional swim-lanes up and down the organization.
• Prior development or project management experience in a highly regulated market or dealing with life-safety products.

Responsibilities

• Hands on management of the portfolio of projects for the transmitters and toxic gas detector products across their lifecycle, including product launches, enhancements, and modifications involving hardware / software / firmware.
• Guide cross-functional project teams that include development engineering, supply chain, planning, manufacturing to marketing through their goals and deliverables.
• Define the scope of new approved project requests with cross functional input, assess their impact to on-going projects, and propose how to best incorporate and prioritize into the existing portfolio of projects and meet business objectives.
• Develop project plans and strategies to ensure on-time and on-budget execution with schedules, resource requirements, deliverables, KPI’s, and budgets.
• Drive and own the execution of projects to committed schedules and ensure governance with company processes.
• Act as a key point of contact for internal teams and external stakeholders, including customers, suppliers, and regulatory agencies.
• Identify, manage and elevate project risks with mitigation and contingency plans.
• Track, manage and communicate project metrics and resource needs.
• Follow the company’s quality management system for safety-critical products.
• Promote benchmarking and product positioning with Product Management and Marketing.
• Other duties and programs as assigned.
