Job summary

GCI, Inc. in Chantilly, VA is seeking a Senior Hardware Engineer to support critical mission programs on-site. This role requires TS/SCI clearance with Poly and involves soldering, PCB assembly, mechanical harnessing, and RF cable work in a high-precision environment.

You will collaborate with development teams to ensure DFM/DFA, perform QA inspections, and maintain detailed electronics documentation per IPC standards. A related degree and 5+ years in hardware engineering are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS/IT or related field, or equivalent.
• Minimum five years of hardware engineering experience.
• U.S. Citizenship with active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph.

Responsibilities

• Perform soldering and mechanical assembly of electronics and hardware in a small hardware environment.
• Install and solder components on PCBs following IPC standards and workmanship requirements.
• Assemble harnesses and RF cables; perform PCB rework and repair as needed.
• Inspect PCBs and perform quality checks to meet specifications.
• Collaborate with development team on DFM/DFA feedback and maintain documentation.
