Job summary

Acuity Inc. is seeking a Hardware Engineer to lead product design for LED drivers from concept through production.

You will supervise prototyping, testing, and verification, coordinating with cross-functional teams to ensure on-time delivery of robust hardware solutions. You will guide qualification tests for electrical, thermal, EMI and environmental specs, collaborate with manufacturing, and drive improvements in cost, reliability, and manufacturability.

Qualifications

• Advanced English skills.
• 5+ years of engineering experience, preferably in Power Electronics and SMPS.
• Strong understanding of Power Electronics circuits: Boost, Buck, Flyback, LLC, LCC, resonant converters, regulators, EMI.
• Experience with PSpice and/or LTSpice.
• Knowledge of PCB design, electrical standards, and manufacturing rules.
• Hands-on knowledge of oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, AC/DC power supplies, electronic loads.
• Risk-based decision-making experience.
• Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
• Strong technical leadership and influence skills.
• Preferred: UL certification and UL testing processes.
• Ability to understand and follow applicable industry and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead design of switch mode power supplies from concept to production.
• Coordinate qualification tests for electrical, thermal, EMI, mechanical and environmental requirements.
• Collaborate with model shop to prototype and assemble samples.
• Work with manufacturing to resolve BOM errors and maintain production lines.
• Participate in stage-gate product delivery meetings.
• Develop concepts for new products fromCharters and Specification Matrix with Product Manager.
• Drive process improvements in productivity, quality, purchasing and manufacturing.
• Support Kaizen/Lean transformation initiatives.
