Job summary

Advanced Illumination is seeking an experienced electrical engineer to design and prototype PCBs and circuits for LED lighting fixtures and DC-DC LED drivers. You will develop controllers with various MCUs, create test fixtures, and document production wiring and assembly details.

The role requires 5+ years’ experience, hands-on soldering, firmware development, and familiarity with LED driver hardware. Collaboration with software, mechanical, and product teams is essential, with ~5 travel

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years’ work experience.
• Experience with Altium Designer.
• Hands-on soldering, assembling and debugging electronics.
• Firmware development and microcontroller experience.
• Experience with DC-DC converters or LED drivers.
• Familiarity with OpenCV or 3D CAD tools a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop PCBs and circuits for LED lighting fixtures and DC-DC LED drivers.
• Design and develop controllers using STM32, Atmel, TI and others.
• Develop test fixtures and write hardware test procedures.
• Create and maintain wiring and assembly documents for production.
• Use standard lab probing and troubleshooting equipment.
• Build and test prototype hardware.
• Review PCB layouts and coordinate with contract manufacturers.
• Research electronic parts and work with sourcing.
