Job summary

Amphenol Corporation is seeking an experienced Hardware Engineer to join the High Speed Interconnect R&D team in Nashua, NH. You will design, validate, and integrate hardware platforms supporting Ethernet and PCIe interconnect products, including AEC, optical transceivers, and LPO modules.

The role requires strong experience in high-speed digital hardware design, schematic capture, PCB development, and power architecture, with collaboration across optical, firmware, SI, and mechanical teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of hardware design and development experience in high‑speed networking or communications products.
• Strong understanding of signal integrity and power integrity in high‑speed designs.
• Experience with optical networking products, AI infrastructure, cloud networking, or hyperscale data centers.
• Familiarity with Ethernet standards and PCIe specifications.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop hardware platforms for Ethernet and PCIe interconnect products (AEC, transceivers, LPO).
• Develop schematics, select components, and prepare hardware design documentation.
• Define PCB stack-ups, layer assignments, and component placement requirements.
• Collaborate with PCB layout to optimize routing, manufacturability, and performance.
• Support design reviews and product qualification activities.
• Integrate DSPs, retimers, and SerDes into test platforms; optimize channel performance.
• Define power architectures including PMICs, DC-DC converters, and sequencing; assess thermal performance.
