Henderson Scott is seeking a Senior Hardware Design Engineer in North Carolina to work on PCB and server hardware for AI and high-performance compute platforms.

The role focuses on design, validation and production of next-generation server platforms, including CPU, memory, PCIe subsystems, and board bring-up. Collaboration with global teams and hands-on debugging are key aspects.

Candidates should have a Bachelor's in Electrical/Computer Engineering and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering.
• Experience with schematic capture and EDA design tools.
• Experience designing complex digital hardware.
• Knowledge of x86 / AMD architecture.
• Experience across CPU, memory and PCIe subsystems.
• Strong board-level debugging and root-cause analysis skills.
• Experience taking hardware through the design, validation and production lifecycle.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and development of PCB / system-level hardware for next-generation server platforms.
• PCB schematic creation and review using EDA design tools.
• CPU, memory, PCIe, RAID and networking subsystem design.
• PCB physical design and board-level development.
• Embedded controllers, microcontrollers and programmable logic.
• Board bring-up, debugging and complex hardware troubleshooting.
• Hardware development from design and prototype through validation and production.
• Collaboration with global hardware engineering and technology teams.
• Development of custom hardware solutions for enterprise customers.
