Job summary

Penguin Solutions is seeking a self-driven Hardware Systems Engineer in Maynard, MA to design, test, and validate server hardware for AI/ HPC workloads. You’ll analyze compute bottlenecks, prototype hardware, and work with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable products.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in EE with 3+ years of experience, knowledge of CPU/GPU, memory, storage, and software-defined infrastructure. Maynard-based position with competitive benefits and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field with 3+ years of experience.
• Solid understanding of computer architectures, integration patterns, and components.
• Experience with storage/networking technologies like SAN, NAS, CSI, CNI, and cloud storage solutions.
• Proficient with IPMI and Redfish.

Responsibilities

• Perform engineering analysis of compute and server related issues.
• Perform prototype and product reviews and validation for reliability and performance.
• Test and debug applications within the engineering organization.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement required functions and features.
• Provide guidance for new product releases with engineering and product teams.
• Document firmware used in shipping products and maintain traceability.
• Provide support and technical consultation to customers and internal teams.
