Job summary

E Tech Group is seeking a Senior Hardware Design and Instrumentation Engineer in a New England hybrid role. You will lead hardware design, instrumentation, and field wiring for control systems, while supporting commissioning and optimization at client sites.

You bring 5+ years of automation project experience, strong PLC/HMI and network know-how, and a practical approach to troubleshooting. Travel up to 50% may be required, with a focus on delivering robust, safe solutions.

Qualifications

5+ years of hands-on experience executing automation projects for process plants.
BS Engineering degree or equivalent educational background.
Knowledge of NFPA 70E and UL 508A standards and codes.
Experience developing process control system applications with PLCs and HMIs.
Design, implementation and troubleshooting of control system networks (Ethernet, ControlNet, DeviceNet).
Schematic modifications in AutoCAD; learning and applying LOTO safety procedures.

Responsibilities

Lead or contribute to hardware design, configuration and testing of control system hardware and instrumentation.
Plan and coordinate work across multiple projects to meet client deliverables.
Provide technical advisement to project leadership and customers for high-priority issues.
Troubleshoot non-functional or out-of-spec instrumentation and control systems.
Travel to client facilities to participate in design, start-up and commissioning.
Serve as hardware and instrumentation SME within the automation team.
