Job summary

Celestica is seeking a Senior Manager, Hardware Design Engineering in San Jose, CA. The role leads cross-functional design teams and collaborates with customers, manufacturing and project leadership to deliver robust, high-quality hardware solutions.

The position emphasizes end-to-end technical support throughout the manufacturing lifecycle, overseeing transitions from research to validation and qualification, and managing complex multi-domain programs with a focus on performance, reliability

Qualifications

• Bachelors Degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Masters Degree preferred but not required; educational requirements may vary by Geography

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development and implementation of technical solutions for complex projects involving multiple domains
• Serve as a technical expert and leader to the team
• Engage with customers and suppliers on product roadmaps and support
• Review and interpret customer requirements and act as primary customer contact
• Analyze trade-offs in complex systems and recommend solutions
• Develop and lead deployment of strategic complex programs and coordinate site-wide deployment efforts
• Manage relationships with key vendors/partners
• Research systems ideas and draw up plans for these systems
• Design, modify and implement systems meeting Celestica needs and standards
• Keep up to date with industry knowledge and regulations
• Set yearly plans and goals for the department; provide direction and performance feedback
• Proficient in compute hardware architectures across datacenter, telecom, enterprise, and service provider
