Job summary

ASHFORD CONNEX, LLC in Huntsville, AL is seeking a Senior Hardware Design Engineer to architect, design, test, and bring-up complex embedded hardware platforms used in defense and industrial applications. The role emphasizes high-speed digital design with Intel/ARM processors, FPGAs, and RFSoCs, owning hardware programs from concept to production while collaborating across hardware, software, systems, and manufacturing teams.

Qualifications

• Must have a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.
• 7+ years of relevant experience in electrical engineering, embedded hardware design, or related electronics development.
• Strong experience with digital circuit design for complex embedded systems.
• Hands-on experience designing hardware with Intel/ARM processors.
• Experience with FPGAs, MPSoCs, RFSoCs, or similar processing devices.
• Experience designing high-speed interfaces such as DDR4/DDR5, PCIe, and multi-Gigabit Ethernet.
• Strong experience with schematic capture and circuit-board design.
• Hands-on hardware bring-up, validation, troubleshooting, and debug.
• Experience using laboratory equipment like oscilloscopes, signal generators, spectrum analyzers, and DMMs.
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of complex technical deliverables.
• Demonstrated experience providing technical leadership on complex engineering efforts or technology areas.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, debug, and support advanced embedded hardware systems.
• Design digital hardware with Intel and ARM processors, DDR memory, FPGAs, MPSoCs, and RFSoCs.
• Implement high-speed interfaces: DDR4/DDR5, PCIe, and multi-Gigabit Ethernet.
• Take ownership of hardware programs from architecture to production release.
• Collaborate with hardware, FPGA, software, systems, product management, manufacturing, and program teams.
