Job summary

Modern Machining Solutions Inc in Huntsville, AL seeks a Senior Hardware Design Engineer to design rugged embedded hardware for defense, aerospace, and industrial applications. You will own complex hardware programs from architecture through bring-up, validation, and production release, targeting Intel and ARM processors, DDR4/DDR5 memory, FPGAs, MPSoCs, and RFSoCs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.
• 7+ years of relevant experience in electrical engineering or embedded hardware design.
• Strong experience with digital circuit design for complex embedded systems.
• Hands-on experience designing hardware with Intel and/or ARM processors.
• Experience with FPGAs, MPSoCs, RFSoCs, or similar devices.
• Experience designing high-speed interfaces such as DDR4/DDR5, PCIe, and multi-Gigabit Ethernet.
• Strong experience with schematic capture and circuit-board design.
• Hands-on experience with hardware bring-up, validation, troubleshooting, and test.
• Experience using laboratory equipment such as oscilloscopes, signal generators, spectrum analyzers, and digital multimeters.

Responsibilities

• Serve as senior technical contributor and design authority for complex embedded hardware programs.
• Design, develop, test, debug, and support advanced electronic systems with a high degree of independence.
• Design digital hardware incorporating Intel and ARM-based processors, DDR memory, FPGAs, MPSoCs, RFSoCs, and high-speed interfaces (DDR4/DDR5, PCIe, multi-Gigabit Ethernet).
• Collaborate with hardware, FPGA, software, systems, product management, manufacturing, and program teams.
