Job summary

RapinnoTech - APAC & USA in San Jose, CA is seeking a Sr. Architect (Hardware Design) to lead end-to-end server-class board development, from requirements through prototyping to product release.

The role emphasizes high-speed interfaces (PCIe Gen5/6, LPDDR5/6, USB 3.x, Ethernet), signal and power integrity, and customization for HPC/data center workloads, with hands-on CAD and bring-up responsibilities.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of hardware design experience
• 8+ years focused on server-class architecture and advanced board design
• Domain expertise in HPC, data center apps, OCP standards, and custom silicon (analog, mixed-signal, digital)
• Server board design, digital & power electronics, MCUs, multi-chip architectures
• High-speed interfaces including PCIe Gen5/6, LPDDR5/6, USB 3.x, Ethernet, M.2, U.2, CSI, DSI, MCIOs, HSIOs
• Strong SI/PI, PCB stack-up, controlled impedance routing, and topologies
• Experience with NPUs, GPUs, and high-power/high-speed signal blocks

Responsibilities

• End-to-End Ownership: lead lifecycle of server-class board designs from requirements to prototyping and release
• Schematic & Layout Execution: drive schematic capture using advanced CAD tools (OrCAD, DxDesigner)
• Validation & Bring-Up: lead board bring-up, testing, debugging, and failure analysis with lab instruments
• Optimization & Customization: focus on chip/system efficiency, performance, power, and application-specific customization

Position: Sr. Architect (Hardware Design)

Location: San Jose, CA (Onsite)

Key Qualifications & Experience

• Experience: 10+ years of hardware design experience (with 8+ years focused specifically on server-class architecture and advanced board design).
• Domain Expertise: High-Performance Computing (HPC), data center applications, Open Compute Project (OCP) standards, and custom silicon spanning analog, mixed-signal, and digital domains.
• Core Technical Stack:
• Server board design, digital & power electronics, microcontrollers, and multi-chip architectures.
• Deep expertise in high-speed interface standards: PCIe Gen5/6, LPDDR5/6, USB 3.x, Ethernet, M.2, U.2, CSI, DSI, MCIOs, and HSIOs.
• Strong mastery of signal integrity (SI) and power integrity (PI), PCB stack-up definitions, controlled impedance routing, and topologies.
• Hands-on experience with server-class designs featuring NPUs, GPUs, and high-power/high-speed signal blocks.

Responsibilities & Scope

• End-to-End Ownership: Lead the complete lifecycle of server-class board designs from initial requirements and circuit design to prototyping, product release, and maintenance.
• Schematic & Layout Execution: Drive detailed schematic preparation and capture using advanced CAD tools (OrCAD, DxDesigner).
• Validation & Bring-Up: Lead rigorous board bring-up, functional testing, debugging, troubleshooting, and failure analysis utilizing lab instruments (high-end oscilloscopes, DMMs, power supplies, signal generators, and electronic loads).
• Optimization & Customization: Focus on chip and system efficiency, performance, power optimization, and application-specific customization.
