Job summary

Capgemini Engineering in San Jose, CA, is seeking a Hardware Board Design Engineer. You will design schematics and PCBs for digital, analog, wireless and power systems, collaborating with firmware, software, and mechanical teams to ensure seamless integration and robust product performance.

You will lead board bring-up, debugging and validation against requirements, while performing signal integrity, power integrity and EMC/EMI analyses.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of PCB design, hardware board development, and embedded hardware experience.
• Proficiency with schematic capture and PCB design tools (Altium, Cadence, OrCAD).
• Expertise in digital, analog, wireless, power electronics, and embedded systems design.
• Experience with board-level debugging, hardware validation, and root-cause analysis.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop schematics and PCBs for digital, analog, wireless and power systems for consumer hardware.
• Collaborate with firmware, software, and mechanical engineering teams; lead board bring-up and debugging, validating against requirements.
• Conduct SI/PI, EMC/EMI, and reliability analysis to optimize hardware quality.
• Support prototypes, EVMs, design reviews and manufacturing ramp-up; drive DFM/DFT and cost optimization.
• Select, evaluate and integrate key components (processors, sensors, memory, connectivity, PMIC).
