Job summary

ChargePoint is seeking a Staff Hardware Engineer to shape the architecture of next-generation EV charging hardware. You will own system-level electrical design, drive board-level architectures, and partner with software, mechanical and thermal teams across North America and Europe.

In this role you will mentor engineers, establish architectural patterns in the first year, and ensure reliable, scalable hardware from concept to manufacturing, with a focus on high-speed interfaces and power

Qualifications

• 8-12 years of experience engineering and architecting complex electronic products.
• Expert-level proficiency with advanced CAD, schematic, simulation, and PCB layout tools.
• Deep domain expertise in embedded systems, high-speed interfaces, power management, and analog control circuits.
• Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional technical initiatives and drive consensus across hardware, software, and mechanical teams.
• Strong track record of defining system-level architectures and transitioning them to manufacturing.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.

Responsibilities

• Own the system-level electrical architecture and lead PCB strategy development.
• Define block diagrams, sub-components, and circuit-level implementations for next-generation charging platforms.
• Set technical direction for embedded processors, high-speed interfaces, power electronics, analog sensing, and motor control.
• Collaborate with software, mechanical, and thermal teams to define system boundaries and integration strategies.
• Mentor hardware engineers and elevate design practices across the org.
