Job summary

Office Ally is seeking a Senior Guidewire Integration Engineer to lead client integration initiatives across EDI, XML, JSON, and data mappings, delivering scalable integration solutions. The role supports Concord, CA with a hybrid schedule and remote options for highly qualified candidates.

Qualifications

  • Experience implementing and supporting ANSI X12 EDI integrations.
  • 8+ years of object-oriented development (Java preferred).
  • Strong SQL skills, Oracle preferred.
  • Experience in Agile environments.
  • Experience with Guidewire ClaimCenter integration touchpoints.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins.
  • Windows and Linux environments familiarity.

Responsibilities

  • Lead phases of client integration lifecycle from requirements to post go-live support.
  • Develop and maintain integration logic for X12 EDI, XML, JSON, and flat files.
  • Perform EDI mapping, validation, and compliance checks.
  • Implement business rules and data transformations using Java-based frameworks.
  • Apply Shift Left practices with automated testing and QA.
  • Build automated test coverage for integration workflows with Playwright.
  • Collaborate with Client Services, QA, and Product teams to translate requirements.
  • Support integration environments using CI/CD and version control.
  • Troubleshoot complex client issues and ensure production stability.
  • Identify opportunities to improve patterns, tooling, data quality.
  • Configure and extend Guidewire ClaimCenter accelerators and upgrades.

Job description

Senior Guidewire Integration Engineer

Hybrid positions available in Brentwood, TN; Concord, CA; Lehi, UT; San Antonio, TX; Vancouver, WA. This is a hands-on integration engineering role focused on building, configuring, and supporting customer implementations. While the platform is Java-based, this role emphasizes Guidewire accelerator enhancements, custom configurations, EDI standards, data transformation, business rules, and integration workflows to deliver high-quality, production-ready client solutions.

This role is central to ensuring our customers onboard and integrate with our platform. You will impact implementation speed, data accuracy, and overall customer experience by delivering scalable Guidewire and EDI integrations that enable consistent, high-quality data exchange across complex insurance and healthcare ecosystems.

This position is based in Concord, California. Local candidates are expected to work a hybrid schedule, with at least two days per week in the office. For highly qualified candidates located outside the area, remote work will be considered.

What You’ll Do
  • Lead key phases of the client integration lifecycle, from requirements analysis through build, testing, deployment, and post-go-live support
  • Develop and maintain integration logic for converting and processing X12 EDI, XML, JSON, flat files, and proprietary formats
  • Perform EDI mapping, validation, and compliance checks to ensure accurate, standards-based data exchange
  • Implement business rules, transformations, and workflow logic using Java-based frameworks and integration tooling
  • Apply Shift Left practices, including early validation, automated testing, and continuous quality checks
  • Build and maintain automated test coverage using Playwright or similar tools for integration workflows and data pipelines
  • Use AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Claude, Copilot) to accelerate debugging, mapping, and implementation tasks
  • Collaborate closely with Client Services, QA, and Product teams to translate customer requirements into working solutions
  • Support integration environments using DevOps principles (CI/CD, version control, environment management)
  • Troubleshoot complex client implementation issues and ensure successful onboarding and production stability
  • Identify opportunities to improve integration patterns, tooling, automation, and data quality
  • Configure and extend Guidewire ClaimCenter accelerators, implement client-specific enhancements, and support upgrades while maintaining alignment with Guidewire best practices
What You’ll Need
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in software development or healthcare technology
  • Experience implementing and supporting EDI integrations, including ANSI X12 standards, data mapping, and transaction processing
  • 8+ years of object-oriented development experience (Java preferred)
  • Strong SQL skills (Oracle preferred)
  • Experience working in Agile environments
  • Familiarity with Windows and Linux environments
  • Experience with Git, Bitbucket, Subversion, or similar source control tools
  • Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins
  • Working knowledge of Guidewire ClaimCenter and/or Contact Manager, including accelerator, integration touchpoints, data flows, and configuration concepts
  • Experience integrating with or supporting Guidewire ClaimCenter and Contact Manager in complex P&C insurance environments
Nice to Have
  • Familiarity with REST APIs, XML, JSON, SOAP, YAML
  • Exposure to build and deployment tools such as Maven, Gradle, Docker, Kubernetes, and ELK stack
  • Experience with JIRA, Confluence, and collaboration tools such as Teams
  • Knowledge of ETL tools (StreamSets, Talend, Airbyte, or similar)
  • Familiarity with Guidewire ecosystem concepts (policies, claims workflows, messaging, integrations)
  • Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools (Claude, GitHub Copilot, etc.) in day-to-day engineering work
  • Experience with Playwright or other modern test automation frameworks
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on data-driven debugging
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent integration efforts independently
  • Excellent communication skills for cross-functional and client-facing collaboration
  • Strong commitment to data privacy and security (HIPAA / PHI / PII compliance)
  • Passion for delivering reliable, high-quality customer implementations
Pay Transparency

Office Ally is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices in alignment with pay transparency laws. Compensation for this position may vary based on individual skills, experience, and location. In addition to base pay, employees may be eligible for performance-based bonuses and a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision coverage, 401(k) with company match, paid time off, and other benefits. Actual compensation will be determined considering the candidate’s qualifications, relevant experience, and internal equity.

Salary Range: $120,000 — $150,000 USD
