Job summary

Cognizant is seeking a Guidewire Claim Center Developer/Consultant to lead end-to-end design, configuration, and integration on the Guidewire Claim Center platform. This remote role is open to qualified applicants in the United States.

You will design, develop, test, and implement Guidewire solutions, build integrations via REST and SOAP, and mentor junior developers while collaborating with stakeholders and distributed teams.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
  • At least 12 years of overall technology experience, including 8+ years of hands-on Guidewire ClaimCenter development.
  • Experience participating in at least one end-to-end Guidewire ClaimCenter implementation or major upgrade.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Guidewire Studio, Gosu, PCF, entities, typelists, business rules, workflows, plugins, and data-model extensions.
  • Strong experience developing ClaimCenter integrations using REST, SOAP, messaging, batch-processing, and plugin frameworks.
  • Proficiency in object-oriented programming, XML, JSON, SQL, and web-service technologies.
  • Strong understanding of property and casualty insurance and the end-to-end claims lifecycle.
  • Experience with Agile or Scrum delivery environments.

Responsibilities

  • Design, configure, develop, test, and implement Guidewire Claim Center solutions.
  • Develop and configure claims functionality including first notice of loss and reserves.
  • Create business rules, workflows, and UI configurations with Guidewire Studio.
  • Build integrations between ClaimCenter and internal or third-party systems via REST, SOAP, messaging, and plugins.

About The Role

The Guidewire Claim Center Developer / Consultant is responsible for the end-to-end design, configuration, development, integration, and implementation of solutions on the Guidewire Claim Center platform. This role works closely with business stakeholders, architects, analysts, QA teams, and integration teams to translate claims-processing requirements into scalable, secure, and reliable technology solutions.

In This Role, You Will
  • Design, configure, develop, test, and implement Guidewire Claim Center solutions.
  • Configure claims functionality, including first notice of loss, exposures, activities, assignments, reserves, payments, recoveries, subrogation, litigation, and claim closure.
  • Develop business rules, workflows, validation rules, assignment rules, and user-interface configurations using Guidewire Studio.
  • Build and customize solutions using Gosu, PCF, entities, typelists, data-model extensions, plugins, and Guidewire configuration frameworks.
  • Design and implement integrations between ClaimCenter and internal or third-party systems using REST APIs, SOAP services, messaging, plugins, and batch processes.
  • Partner with business analysts, claims stakeholders, and Product Owners to understand requirements and translate them into technical designs and implementation plans.
  • Lead technical-design discussions and recommend solutions aligned with Guidewire standards and enterprise architecture.
  • Develop technical specifications, integration mappings, process flows, data models, and system-design documentation.
  • Conduct code and design reviews and ensure adherence to coding, security, performance, and quality standards.
  • Create unit tests and support functional, integration, regression, performance, and user-acceptance testing.
  • Troubleshoot complex configuration, integration, data, performance, and production issues and perform root-cause analysis.
  • Support ClaimCenter upgrades, cloud migrations, platform modernization, and product-version enhancements.
  • Assist with data conversion, mapping, reconciliation, and migration activities.
  • Provide effort estimates, identify technical dependencies, and communicate risks or delivery concerns proactively.
  • Participate in sprint planning, backlog refinement, daily stand-ups, demonstrations, and retrospectives.
  • Support release planning, deployment, implementation, and post-production stabilization.
  • Collaborate effectively with distributed teams, external vendors, and Guidewire support.
  • Develop reusable components, technical standards, and delivery accelerators.
  • Mentor junior developers and provide technical guidance to the broader delivery team.

Guidewire ClaimCenter certification.

  • Guidewire Cloud certification or hands-on Guidewire Cloud experience.
  • Experience with ClaimCenter upgrades or migrations to Guidewire Cloud.
  • Experience with other Guidewire InsuranceSuite applications, including PolicyCenter, BillingCenter, ContactManager, and DataHub.
  • Familiarity with Guidewire Cloud Platform, Integration Gateway, and related cloud services.
  • Experience with AWS, Azure, or other enterprise cloud platforms.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and tools such as Git, Jenkins, TeamCity, Maven, or Gradle.
  • Familiarity with automated testing tools and Guidewire testing frameworks.
  • Understanding of insurance regulatory, security, audit, and data-privacy requirements.

Salary And Other Compensation

Applications will be accepted until September 6, 2026.

The annual salary for this position is between $88,000 - $155,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
