Job summary

Water & Environmental Technologies (WET) is seeking a Senior Groundwater Modeler to lead advanced groundwater modeling for mining, remediation, and water-resources projects across the Rocky Mountain region and western United States. The role involves integrating field data, GIS, and hydrogeology to deliver technically sound solutions and client-ready deliverables.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in geology, hydrogeology, geological engineering, environmental engineering, civil engineering, or related field.
• Ten years of groundwater modeling experience with collaboration across teams and field personnel.
• Certified Hydrogeologist (CHG), Professional Geologist (PG), or Professional Engineer (PE) licensed in applicable state(s).
• Strong communication and collaboration within a multidisciplinary team and the ability to translate modeling concepts to clients and reviewers.
• Proficiency with MODFLOW 6 and related packages; experience with FloPy and advanced calibration/uncertainty tools (PEST/IES).

Responsibilities

• Expand groundwater modeling team capabilities and improve modeling processes.
• Support business development through technical proposals and client-facing presentations.
• Construct, calibrate, and run 3D groundwater flow and contaminant transport models (MODFLOW suite).
• Develop robust conceptual site models by integrating diverse data (geologic, hydrologic, pumping, water quality).
• Automate workflows using GIS and programming (Python, MATLAB, R) for data processing and visualization.
• Prepare technical reports and deliver clear results to clients and regulators.
• Coordinate field activities and support project planning, scopes, and cost estimates.
• Maintain QA/QC of project files and model documentation in line with health and safety policies.
