Job summary

Geosyntec Consultants, Inc. seeks a Principal Quantitative Hydrogeologist / Groundwater Modeler in the Oakland or Walnut Creek, CA area.

You will lead challenging groundwater projects, design and oversee field investigations, and mentor junior staff while driving client relations and business development. The role requires a strong background in hydrogeology, groundwater modeling (MODFLOW/MT3D), and experience with ArcGIS/Leapfrog for data visualization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in geology, hydrogeology, environmental sciences, civil or environmental engineering or similar (required).
• Advanced degree (preferred).
• Professional registration (P.G., P.E.) (preferred).
• 10+ years of related experience (required).
• Experience with aquifer performance tests (required).
• Interest in contaminant remediation and quantitative hydrogeology (required).
• Experience with visualization tools (ArcGIS, Leapfrog) and groundwater modeling (Modflow, MT3D) (preferred).
• Experience with multi-disciplinary project teams (required).
• Client development and management experience (required).
• Ability to travel to client facilities as needed (required).
• OSHA 40-hr HAZWOPER (preferred)

Responsibilities

• Manage technical projects and contribute to business development and client management.
• Plan and implement investigation and remediation projects, budgets, and schedules.
• Serve as technical specialist on groundwater projects.
• Design and oversee field investigations and conceptual hydrogeologic models.
• Oversee aquifer testing and data analyses.
• Oversee data visualization and preparation of reports and proposals.
• Lead client meetings and proposals; foster client relationships.
• Mentor junior staff on project performance and career development.
• Occasionally perform fieldwork including site tours and safety audits.
