Job summary

SLR Consulting (Canada) Ltd is seeking a Senior Groundwater Modeler to join a global team addressing mining water challenges. You will contribute to projects in Canada and beyond, mentoring staff and supporting client service, with travel to project sites as needed.

The role requires deep expertise in groundwater modeling, numerical methods, and software such as GMS, Groundwater Vistas, and FEFLOW, with fluency in Python scripting and a track record of international collaboration.

Qualifications

• MSc or PhD in Hydrogeology or related discipline, ideally focused on numerical groundwater modeling.
• Registered as a P.Geo or P.Eng with Engineers and Geoscientists.
• Minimum 15 years of experience in groundwater flow and contaminant transport modeling using numerical methods (finite difference/finite element).
• Experience developing 3D hydrogeological conceptual models using Surfer, Leapfrog and EVS.
• Proficiency in Python and FloPy, FORTRAN, or similar for codes and scripting.
• Spanish language skills are an asset.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel domestically and abroad.
• Strong written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate on hydrogeological projects in Canada, Australia, and South America.
• Develop and refine groundwater flow and contaminant transport models with input from senior staff.
• Review and interpret groundwater data as part of conceptual and numerical modeling.
• Develop 3D hydrogeological conceptual models using designated software.
