Job summary

Westmoreland County Community College is seeking a Groundskeeper to maintain campus grounds, buildings, athletic fields and related facilities. The role includes mowing, trimming, planting, debris removal, and routine equipment maintenance.

Requires a high school diploma or equivalent and two years in horticulture/grounds maintenance, plus a valid driver’s license. Forklift certification must be obtained within 3 months of hire; background clearances are required. Salary is $14.85/hour.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Two (2) years of work experience in horticulture, grounds maintenance, or landscape architecture is required.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Forklift operator certification must be obtained within 3 months of hire, and maintained through recertification.
• PA Child Abuse History Clearance, PA Criminal Record Check Clearance, and FBI Federal Criminal History Record Clearance are required at the employee’s expense.

Responsibilities

• Monitor College exterior property to ensure professional appearance of buildings, grounds, and athletic fields.
• Evaluate exterior areas for unsafe conditions and remedy accordingly (snow/ice removal, debris removal, erosion).
• Perform snow removal duties and apply salt on sidewalks/parking lots.
