Job summary

The School Board of Broward County, Florida is seeking a Supervisory Grounds professional in Oakland Park to oversee maintenance and operations of district grounds. You will lead a team of foremen and trades, plan schedules, manage costs, and ensure safety and quality across playgrounds, fencing, irrigation, and related facilities.

Essential duties include coordinating with school leadership, maintaining daily activity reports, and ensuring licenses and certifications are current.

Qualifications

• Requires a standard high school diploma or GED.
• Minimum of seven years’ experience and/or training in the field.
• Requires at least two years supervisory experience, preferably in lawn care or landscape contracted services.
• Must have a valid Florida Driver’s License.
• Computer skills as required for the position.

Responsibilities

• Assist in unitizing, planning, coordinating, constructing and maintaining grounds.
• Estimate materials, supplies, manpower and total cost from drawings; clarify plans as needed.
• Prepare a master work schedule for multiple foremen and tradespeople.
• Assign work to trades per work orders; inspect for conformance to plans and codes.
• Review time cards; monitor quality, safety and cleanliness on site.
• Coordinate with principals and area directors to meet customer requirements.
