Job summary

MPI is seeking an experienced Commercial Superintendent to lead day-to-day field operations on diverse Los Angeles projects. This role requires overseeing subcontractors, maintaining the construction schedule, and ensuring safety and quality on ground-up and tenant-improvement work.

Ideal candidates will have 5+ years in commercial construction, strong leadership, and the ability to read plans and coordinate with PMs, clients, and partners.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of commercial construction experience.
• Experience as a Superintendent for a General Contractor.
• Strong knowledge of construction means and methods.
• Experience managing subcontractors and multiple trades.
• Ability to read plans, specifications, and shop drawings.
• Strong knowledge of quality control and jobsite safety.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
• Ground-up construction experience is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage daily field operations.
• Coordinate and direct subcontractors and trade partners.
• Manage project sequencing and maintain the construction schedule.
• Conduct daily huddles and subcontractor coordination meetings.
• Review plans, specifications, shop drawings, and construction documents.
• Coordinate inspections and site logistics.
• Identify and resolve constructability and field issues.
• Coordinate with the Project Manager regarding RFIs, submittals, change orders, and schedule.
• Enforce jobsite safety requirements and maintain a safe working environment.
• Monitor manpower, materials, deliveries, and site logistics.
• Communicate regularly with clients, architects, Project Managers, and company leadership.
• Drive punch list, turnover, and final project completion.
